Galaxy M31 Review - How is the overall performance of this mid range smartphone of Samsung with 6,000mAh battery and four rear cameras.  Read this review.

Galaxy M31 of South Korean company Samsung is a mid range smartphone. This smartphone has a 64 megapixel primary camera and quad camera setup. The base variant comes with 64GB of storage with 6GB of RAM, which you can buy for Rs 17,499.

Let's try to know through the review whether this smartphone is a value for money deal at this price.
Talking about the design and build quality of Galaxy M31, it seems to be a typical Samsung smartphone.

 Design / Build Quality

The Galaxy M series has an iconic design that is also found in other phones of this series. There is a camera module with four cameras and LED flash light in the top left of the back panel. The fingerprint scanner is provided on the rear paner itself which is fast. The bot has a USB Type C port with speaker grills. Along with this, a headphone jack is also provided here.

The Galaxy M31 has a 6.4-inch Full HD + Amoled Infinty U display. The display can be called segment best. Other smartphones in this segment of Samsung also get good display. You will see Infinity U panel i.e. water drop style notch in the display.

 The display

There are at least bezels in the display, although the bottom has a chin which means that it will be seen here. The display is bright and colorful and this is the first thing you will notice when you turn on the smartphone. The display of the phone is of premium grade and is impressive. There will be no problem in using direct sunlight and there is no problem in the viewing angle. Overall, the display of this phone is one of the few features of this smartphone.

The Exynos 9611 processor has been given in the Galaxy M31. Usually this processor is also compared to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 or 730 many times. This chipset has four 2.3G Cortez-A73 and four 1.7GHz Cortex-A53. It has been prepared at 10nm.

This processor overall is good in terms of this segment. But talking about the performance of Galaxy M31, we felt it averaged. Handles daily use tasks well. We also liked the phone in terms of multi-tasking.

However, there was a problem of slowing down in gaming twice. If you play the game at mid settings, then there is no problem in it. The phone will not heat up and you can play heavy games like COD Mobile, PUBG and Asphalt.

 Software

The Galaxy M31 has Android 10 based One UI 2.0. On the software front, Samsung has made a lot of changes in itself for some time. This is the reason that using this phone is simple, fast and smooth.

If you like dark mode then I can say with certainty that most of the time you are going to run this smartphone on dark mode only. Black looks great in the display. Can tweak in navigation bar. Instead of buttons, you can also use full screen gestures. An option to change the button border is also given.

The phone has pre-loaded software which I do not like. Among them, there are many apps like Hello Apps, Amazon Prime, Snapchat, Daily Hunt, Amazon, Netflix, Facebook and YouTube which are already installed.

The Galaxy M31 has four rear cameras. The primary camera is 64 megapixels. There is an 8 megapixel ultra wide angle lens. There is a 5 megapixel depth sensing camera and a 5 megapixel macro lens. A 32-megapixel front camera has been given for selfie.

 Talking about Camera
camera performance, all four cameras in it play their part well. Macro lenses could have been done better. This is the average, by taking a little time you can definitely extract some good macroshots from it. But for this the lighting should be fine.

The primary camera is good, depth sensing is not much work here. Because now companies give background blur ie bokeh effect only through software. It would have been much better if there was a telephoto lens here.

Outdoor photography is impressive, the pictures clicked have good details and you don't see the grains. Although night photography is not as solid. Talking about indoor, it is much better. Even in low light, you can click photos just fine.
