Galaxy M21 Review: The Best Smartphone with Amazing Display and powerful battery backup

Galaxy M21 Review - In the budget smartphone segment, this Samsung smartphone can be good in many respects.  Please read the review before taking.

Samsung launched a budget smartphone Galaxy M21 for the Indian market in March.  The  Galaxy M21 price is in India is currently Rs 14,499 .  It has two variants - the base variant has 4GB + 64GB, the second variant has 128GB of storage with 6GB of RAM and is priced at Rs 16,499.

Budget smartphones are quite popular in India.  If you are looking to buy this smartphone then this review will work for you.

 The display

The Galaxy M21 has a 6.4-inch Full HD + Super Amoled display.  In this too, Infinity U panel has been used like Galaxy M31.  Aspect ratio is 19.5: 9.  The resolution of the screen is 1080X2340p.

The display is bright and colorful, looks good.  The company has been launching smartphones with the best display in this segment for some time.  The bezels are short, but the chin is given.  The display of this phone is impressive and it will not disappoint with any angle. Always on display is also fantastic.  Since the AMOLED panel is used, the dark mode looks good.  Always on display looks like a premium smartphone.

There is no problem in the viewing angle of the screen and we did not face any problem in using it even in indoor or outdoor sunlight.

This phone feels compact in the hand.  Talking about the design, here you have the Identical Design of the Galaxy M Series.  That is, there is nothing new.  The back panel is plastic.  There is a good grip in holding the phone.  We have reviewed the blue color variant which is good.  Build quality average. The bottom of the phone has USB Type C and headphone jack with speaker grill.  Apart from this, all the side buttons are standard.  As we told you, Infinity U is a display that means you will get a notch.

 Performance

The Galaxy M21 has an Exynos 9611 Octacore processor.  The same processor is also given in Galaxy M31.  With this Mali-G72 MP3 GPU has been given.

As we have also told you in the review of Galaxy M31, this inhouse processor of Samsung Exynos 9611 is also compared to Qualcomm's Snapdragon 712 or 730.

Talking about performance, Galaxy M21 handles all types of applications well.  Daily use apps - such as social media, shopping, photo apps, or gaming apps.  It is also smooth in multi tasking.

Talking about the response of this phone during gaming, you will not be able to play Asphalt and other games in full settings, including COD Mobile and PUBG.  You will notice the lag and the phone also heats up.  This phone is not for full time gamers.  But you can play by reducing the settings of the game.

Since the phone's display is good, you can watch binge.  Your experience will be good while watching videos and web series.  Switching from one app to another is also fast.  You can choose one of the buttons or gestures by going into settings.  Once your habit becomes gesture, then it will be beneficial for you.

The Galaxy M21 has Android 10 based OneUI 1.5 which is smooth.  Security patches also keep coming, but it cannot be said how long the update will be received.  However, the company has worked on the software experience and you will be able to feel this while using this phone.

 The camera

There are also some blotwires i.e. apps which will be pre-installed in Galaxy M21.  These include apps such as Daily Hunt, Snapchat, Amazon Prime Video, Hello and Netflix.  Many people will like this and many will like it.

The Galaxy M21 has three rear cameras.  The primary camera is 48 megapixels.  There is an ultra wide lens of 8 megapixels.  A 5 megapixel depth sensor has been given.  A 20-megapixel front camera has been given for selfie.

Camera interface is standard which is given in other Samsung smartphones with this custom UI.  There is also an option of Pro Mode.  Apart from this, the scene detection feature works well.  You can also enable it manually.

Talking about camera features, features like Live Focus, Night Mode, Slow Mo, Super Slow Mo and Timelaps have been given.
The photography defaults to 12 megapixels, enabling 48 megapixels.  Photos from primary lens are good and in this you will get plenty of details.  However the wide angle lens provided in it does not affect that much.  This will enable you to notice distortion in the photos clicked and their resolution will also be reduced. For depth-of-field-bokeh mode, even though this smartphone has a dedicated lens.  But the company could also do this work with software.  It should have been replaced with a macro lens.  Despite that this phone has a depth sensing lens, portrait images do not come as expected.  If not properly lit, the background and objects merge and you cannot get the exact portrait image.  It works fine under good light.

Night scene also has an option, but it is not as accurate.  However, by enabling the night scene, you can click such photos which look good.  In this, you will get to notice grains.  It can be called an average.  Similarly, photography is also averaged in low light.

A 20-megapixel front camera has been given for selfie.  The beautification mode becomes auto enabled.  Decent selfie can be clicked.  If the light is good, then you will like its selfie camera very much.  There is also an option of software based wide angle which can be selected and click wide selfie.

 The battery

The Galaxy M21 has a 6,000mAh battery, which is fantastic according to this segment.  According to the display and software, the company has done a good job by giving a 6,000mAh battery.

In mixed use, you can run the phone for 1.5 days on a full charge.  Heavy use of the phone means that even if you watch more gaming and videos, it will run throughout the day.  Battery backup is impressive and if you want a battery-centric smartphone with all these features, then this can be the best deal for you.

Galaxy M21 is a budget smartphone and in this the company has tried to give more and more things.  However, as you read in the review, some things will not affect you.  But if you want a smartphone with display class leading, good software experience too, then you can buy it.
